We're looking forward to reading Acumen Fund CEO Jacqueline Novogratz's personal memoir, The Blue Sweater: Bridging the Gap Between Rich and Poor in an Interconnected World. The book follows her quest to understand global poverty and to find powerful new ways of tackling it.
Some exciting events related to The Blue Sweater are in the works for Young Professionals for Acumen Fund - check back soon for more details. (FYI, the book hits shelves on March 3.)

just read the first few pages online, was charmed and moved waiting to buy the book but more than that once again beginning to believe that we can make a difference.
ReplyDeleteI keep reading articles and interviews thanks to the Acumen Fund delicious feed (don't mind the quick plug) and I absolutely can't wait to get started this weekend.
ReplyDeleteSMH - Thanks for the great comment. I know Jacqueline is hoping that this book proves to be a calling (of sorts) for our generation. And, although it deals with international development x business, I think the themes, lessons, and most of all the incredible stories, will resonate with a real diverse crowd that shares in the values of respect, generosity, humility, and listening...balanced by accountability, audacity, and leadership. Thanks for being part of this movement.
