Pure Project Opportunities
Ryan Fix wrote the following post. He is the founder of Pure Project, an idea incubator whose goal is to influence social, environmental, and economic sustainability. Pure Project is a close friend and supporter of Young Professionals for Acumen Fund.
Looking for great interns to support the Pure Project!
The Pure Project is committed to building a community of sustainable businesses, which support each other and embrace the principals of conscious capitalism where all stakeholders are considered equal.
As such, the Pure Project functions as an idea incubator whose goal is to influence social, environmental, and economic sustainability through the vitality of its numerous projects and programs. Our interests lie in interdisciplinary working methods, participatory culture, network development, and working with like-minded individuals. Our intention is to develop physical and online communities that serve as nexus points to promote creative sustainable practice.
What does that mean?
1. Do good with dollars
2. Work together in creative new ways
As close friends and huge supporters of acumen fund, we are hoping to tap into the passions, ideas, and resources of some of the wonderful individuals that represent the Acumen Fund community for support on some of our pure projects currently in motion.
Pure Projects include:
1. PurePlanet - our reforestation initiatives in Peru, Bolivia, and Brazil
2. PureCenter - our physical hub opening in Brooklyn later this summer to incubate, expose, and provide educational opportunities for a variety of Pure Projects
3. PureLink - our virtual platform to connect Pure Projects with the resources they need to move forward in the world
4. PureTimes - our blog on all things "pure" happening in the world and specifically highlighting outstanding pure projects in the world
5. PureCafe - a local, organic, fair trade, "objective carbon zero" cafe to open at PureCenter
6. PureLab - our co-working and incubation hub for pure projects to be housed in the Brooklyn PureCenter and another proposed in Nolita connected to our Openhouse gallery
Within these projects, there are internship opportunities in creative writing, communications/public relations, graphic/web design, web programming, event production, and general research/outreach.
We are looking to work with great people for a minimum commitment of two months at 15 hours per week. There are on-going opportunities available immediately.
